COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Protocol is as follows:
Registration – Online only. No race day registration, cash exchanged etc.
Pre-Race Orientation – Will take place virtually. No on-site gathering.
Race Packet Pick Up – Procedures will be in place to promote physical distancing and mitigate person-to-person contact. Only essential items will be placed in the packet including facemask, T-shirt, bib/bike/helmet/body numbers, swim cap, and timing chip.
Event Day Social Distancing – Signage will be placed in key areas of venue encouraging social distancing. Verbal announcements will also be made on a regular basis.
Hand Sanitizing Stations – Will be placed throughout the venue. Signage will be displayed reminding everyone to use them. Verbal announcements will be made to serve as a reminder.
Face Coverings – Athletes will be required to wear face coverings before and after competition. Staff and volunteers will be required to wear face coverings throughout the event.
Increase Athlete Footprint in Transition – Transition area will be expanded. The number of bikes per rack (normally 6/rack) will be reduced to 3/rack.
Swim Waves & Time Trial Swim Start – To maintain social distancing, the number of athletes per swim wave will be reduced, and athletes will enter the water one at a time.
No Wetsuit Stripping – If the event is wetsuit legal, athletes will be required to remove their own wetsuit with no volunteer assistance.
Water Stations – On course and finish line water stations will offer sealed, single serve water bottles.
Finisher Medals – Medals will be wrapped and handed to each finisher by a gloved/masked volunteer.
Timing Chips – Athletes will be required to remove their own chip and place it into a sanitized bin near the finish line.
Timing Results – Will be sent to each athlete’s cell phone with no common area physical postings.
Post Race Food & Refreshments – Will be available in single serve paper bags. There will be no open food displays.
Awards Ceremony (Subject to Cancellation) – Awards area will be increased to allow proper social distancing. Awards will be presented by staff and volunteers wearing facemasks and gloves. Attendees will be required to wear facemasks.
Spectators – The Event will graciously discourage random spectators. The race is intended for participating athletes who are maintaining proper protocol standards.
